At Veritas Christian Academy all grading is done on a percentage basis. When students receive graded work back from the teacher it will have at least one percentage grade on it. Veritas Christian Academy has one grading scale:
Percentage | Letter Grade | Meaning | GPA | 100% - 93% | A | Excellent | 4.0 | 92% - 85% | B | Above Average | 3.0 | 84% - 75% | C | Average | 2.0 | 74% - 70% | D | Below Average | 1.0 | Below 70% | F | Unacceptable | 0.0 | Some work will have more than one grade on it. For instance a History Test may have three percentage grades on it. One to describe how well the students knew the facts about History. The second percentage could be a spelling grade. This grade will be figured into the student's quarterly spelling average. The third percentage could be a grammar grade. This grade will be figured into the student's quarterly grammar grade. Spelling and grammar count at all times and on all graded work handed in at Veritas Christian Academy. Extra Credit Veritas Christian Academy does allow teachers to give extra credit assignments to students. These extra credit assignments can be done simply for the joy of learning, or perhaps to earn a special privilege or reward, but extra credit work is not allowed to effect a student's grades. |
