Veritas Christian Academy can not survive on tuition alone. Our goal is to raise 80% of the school’s money through tuition and known sources of income. The other 20%, however, comes from donations. These donations are critically necessary to the continued prosperity of the school.
Veritas Christian Academy wants to approach fund raising in a biblical manner. We know that the Bible requires Christians to be “cheerful givers” and Veritas Christian Academy wants to strive to be a place that parents, grandparents, friends, and eventually alumni will want to support.
The school is working hard to promote an atmosphere of cheerful giving. In order to do that the school is committed to having only two major fundraisers a year. Veritas does not want to burden parents with the hassle of never-ending fundraisers that “nickel and dime” the same families over and over again. We also want to make sure that our fundraisers are enjoyable times for all of the people involved.
Current Fund Raisers
Fall Fund Raiser: Chocolate Sale
Drew Bohs, Joy Club PTA President for 2011-12, with the help of his wife, Rose Marie Bohs, will be coordinating our first fund raiser. We will be selling "The World's Finest Chocolate" again as our Fall Fundraiser. Many of you have told us that this candy sale is easy and sells quickly. We are asking EACH family (all grades) to sell a minimum of one box. But if each VCA student would sell 1 box, (or more) we will raise approximately $3,000. Each box contains 30 chocolate items to be sold at $2.00 each. The entire box of chocolate sells for $60. The starting date for the Fall Fundraising Campaign is September 1, 2011 and the ending date is October 3rd. To encourage multiple sales we are handing out four prizes this year!!!! The TOP seller will receive a NOOK ©Barnes & Noble, 2nd place: a Blue Ray DVD Player; 3rd place: Free Jeans Day for the entire 2011-2012 School Year; and for 4th place: Skull candy ear phones.
Wednesday Pizza Day
Pizza will not be available this Wednesday, September 7, 2011, however, we will be starting this on Wednesday, September 14, 2011. You will need to place your order on the Pizza Order Form with your child’s teacher on Tuesdays. Pizza is $2 per slice. We need exact cash or a check payable to the VCA-Joy Club. All profits benefit the Joy Club. Students may purchase a drink separately with Mrs. Warnecke.
Friday Blue Jean Day
Blue jean day will be held every Friday, unless otherwise notified. There is a cost of $2.00 per child each Friday. There are “blue jean” vouchers available at the front desk for $2.00 each available in $10.00 allotments. We need exact cash, check or voucher payable to the VC-Joy Club. All profits benefit the Joy Club.
