The Virginian Pilot highlighted VCA's debut theatrical production of Annie Jr in the May 8, 2009 issue of the Chesapeake Clipper. In an article entitled "Veritas Christian Presents Student Production of 'Annie Jr.'", Eric Feber wrote: The curtain will rise tomorrow at 1:30pm, betcha bottom dollar. In fact, it will also rise tonight at 6 at the Kempsville Playhouse, 800 Monmouth Lane in Virginia Beach.
It's the Chesapeake-based Veritas Christian Academy's first dramatic production, "Annie Jr.," a scaled-down version of the internationally popular musical....
The Oak Grove Road school chose this particular musical because "it allows the elementary and upper school students to interact, and we want to present an encouraging theme during the economic times we are in," school headmaster Sean Elgut wrote in an e-mail.
