Veritas Christian Academy

The Lady Spartans won their first Varsity Basketball game on Tuesday, December 15th against Ryan Academy.  The girl's team, under Coach Lance Waite, defeated Ryan Academy 21 to 20, handing Veritas our very first competitive basketball win. Congratulations to Jessica Waite, Victoria Beaumont, Ariana Beaumont, Anna Elgut, Loren Turner, Alicia Hernandez, Emily Beaumont, Abigail Elgut, and Emily Ogle for this historic victory!

Veritas Christian Academy reclaimed the crown at the third annual Chesapeake Freedom Challenge on December 6, 2009. Demonstrating a mastery of the Revolutionary War Battle of Great Bridge combined with an intrepid ability to locate hidden clues, Connor Baker, Alyssa Houser, and Bronwynn Terrell scored a decisive victory on this chilly afternoon supported by fellow team members Sam Beethoven, Jake Leporte, and Alexis Neff. These six students spent weeks in preparation under the coaching of Mr. Elgut and represented Veritas well in the competition. Former Chesapeake Mayor William Ward presented the team with the Chesapeake Freedom Challenge trophy which will be housed at the school until next year’s competition.

Mr. Sean Elgut, Headmaster of Veritas Christian Academy, was awarded the "Most Notable Alumnus of the Year" Award for 2009-10 from Regent University's School of Education for his contributions in the field of Education.  Congratulations Mr. Elgut!
