Annie Jr Highlighted in Chesapeake Clipper
Saturday, 09 May 2009 00:00

The Virginian Pilot highlighted VCA's debut theatrical production of Annie Jr in the May 8, 2009 issue of the Chesapeake Clipper.  In an article entitled "Veritas Christian Presents Student Production of 'Annie Jr.'", Eric Feber wrote:

The curtain will rise tomorrow at 1:30pm, betcha bottom dollar.  In fact, it will also rise tonight at 6 at the Kempsville Playhouse, 800 Monmouth Lane in Virginia Beach.

It's the Chesapeake-based Veritas Christian Academy's first dramatic production, "Annie Jr.," a scaled-down version of the internationally popular musical....

The Oak Grove Road school chose this particular musical because "it allows the elementary and upper school students to interact, and we want to present an encouraging theme during the economic times we are in," school headmaster Sean Elgut wrote in an e-mail.

The Virginian Pilot covered the third annual Colonial Dance (2008) in an article in the Chesapeake Clipper.  In the December 7, 2009 article entitled "Step 1, Step 2 and Allemande", correspondent Barbara J. Woerner wrote:

With skirts swirling and gentleman bowing, Colonial history came alive recently for Veritas Christian Academy’s students and families.

They spent an evening executing allemandes, arming, undertaking balance and swing and other dance moves at the school’s third annual Colonial Christmas Dance and Feast on Dec. 1 at Founders Inn and Spa in Virginia Beach.
Pilot subscribers can log in and read the complete article with pictures or anyone can read the December 2008 issue of The Verbum for a report from VCA's student newspaper.
