CENTER FOR GLOBAL LEADERSHIP STUDIES

The Center For Global Leadership Studies is housed in the historic landmark Pembroke Manor and is preparing the next generation of Veritas students for leadership nationally and globally.  It offers a series of courses designed for 7th through 12th graders taught by certified teachers and experts in their field at the appropriate grade level.  Example modules are as follows:

Providing and receiving effective mentoring relationships

Beyond the Core Courses taken through our formal Leadership Training program, students will be engaged in courses taught by local, national, and international leaders in their fields as it relates to leadership. The students will also be involved in numerous activities that will aid them as emerging leaders including a required 80 hours of community service per year (9th-12th grades), internships, executive life habits for success, etiquette as applied in various cultures, and opportunities for travel and study abroad.

In addition, it is required that each student research, write, present and defend two theses: Junior Thesis of 20-25 page paper which occurs during the 11th grade and Senior Thesis of 30-35 page paper. The Senior Thesis will be presented and defended before local graduate-level university professors.

LTI Founder Kevin Hinman began his career with General Electric. He graduated from GE’s elite two-year management training program in Computer management. He gained experience in both the Defense and Consumer Products Divisions.

Kevin left GE to work with the U.S. Navy. He served as a civilian with a joint forces team producing 150 training courses for Navy Pilots., Communication Officers, and SEAL Teams. Kevin’s passion for training leaders has led him to five continents and trained thousands of leaders worldwide.

Kevin is also a business consultant, focused on building management teams and mentoring rising executives. Kevin holds a B.S. degree in Business Management and Masters in Journalism along with his GE diploma.
