Encouraging Spiritual Development

Veritas Collegiate Academy aims to make the spiritual life of our students intimately integrated into our curriculum. Students are constantly encouraged to consider the worldview implications of the subjects that they’re studying.  Our 11th and 12th grade students take Apologetics where they are encouraged to build their faith with difficult topics.

Chapel

We meet weekly for chapel time as a school.  Each chapel begins with Christian songs led by our student worship team.  A spiritual message is then delivered by a faculty member, parent, student or guest speaker to share the word of God to our students hearts and encourage them to apply the word in their daily lives.

Mentoring Groups

Several mornings a week, our faculty meet with students in small mentoring groups, often discussing topics recently presented in our chapel services.  This provides a great opportunity to talk with students and get their thoughts and perspectives on issues of faith.  This time is priceless in the molding of our students characters for God.

Operation Christmas Child

VCA partners with Samaritan's Purse in Operation Christmas Child where we collect shoeboxes of gifts to send around the world to children in need.  This is such a wonderful time for our students, K - 12th, to practice the love of giving.  During our packing day the children hear the Christmas Story read to them by our 6th grade students.

7th-12th Grade Retreat

At the beginning of the school year, our 7th - 12th grade students travel to an outdoor retreat center for spiritual development and team building.  Each day begins and ends with prayer and a spiritual lesson given by a parent or faculty member.
