Cevan Green

Valedictorian 2026

Cevan Green is the elder of two sons. During his three years at Veritas Collegiate Academy, he has been a dedicated member of the varsity basketball team, which won two back-to-back NCSAA national titles. He has also served as Chairman of the student body, received the William Wilberforce Award and was selected for the National Honor Society. Having received acceptances from Purdue University, the University of Colorado Boulder, the University of Arizona, and the University of Virginia, Cevan has chosen to attend Virginia Tech this fall to pursue a degree in aerospace engineering.

Salutatorian 2026

Zheng (John) Mao transferred from our campus in Shenzhen, China. He has a strong focus on STEM and a commitment to biological and medical research. This passion led him to Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he conducted experiments on microglial cells and published work on brain-computer interfaces and cancer treatments. A student leader in his own right, John served as Student Union President and led community service initiatives. He will attend the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in the fall.

National Merit Scholar

WAlvin-Hao (1)e are proud to congratulate Alvin Hao, a student at our Chesapeake Campus, on being recognized as a National Merit Scholar! Out of 1.3 million program entrants nationwide, Alvin is among the top 50,000 highest-scoring participants to be recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation as either a Semifinalist or Commended Student in the fall of 2026 — one of only three students selected from all Chesapeake high schools for Semifinalist distinction in 2025. Alvin's academic excellence extends beyond the classroom as well: he recently won at the regional level for National History Day and is now advancing to compete at the state and national levels. Alvin's achievements are a testament to his dedication, hard work, and the outstanding caliber of students at our Chesapeake Campus.

Meiyue-liu (1) (1)

Meiyue (Vivian) Liu is the only child of Lazhen Pan and Jinping Liu. She joined Veritas in Chesapeake as a senior and has made a lasting impact during her time here. She served as President of the Student Government in 2025 and actively participated in both the volleyball and tennis teams.
 
Prior to her time at Veritas Chesapeake, Vivian attended Veritas Shenzhen, where she earned first prize at the provincial level in the National Open Source Hardware Application Design Challenge—an impressive achievement that reflects her strong academic and technical capabilities.
 
A
fter graduation, Vivian plans to pursue a degree in Information Technology. She has been accepted to several esteemed institutions, including Ohio State University, Virginia Tech, and Rutgers University, and is excited about the opportunities that lie ahead.

Gaoxiang Li is the son of Man Li and Ledan Gao. He has been a student at Veritas since the 9th grade and has made meaningful contributions to the school community during his time here. In his junior year, he was an active member of both the basketball and tennis teams, representing Veritas with dedication and school spirit.
 
AGaoxiang-Li (1) (1)fter graduation, Gaoxiang plans to attend the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where he will pursue studies in the field of education. He is excited to take the next step in his academic journey
